Report on Seminar of Digital Literacy organized by CSE Department CGC COE on 10thAugust 2018.

Event objective: Department of CSE, CGC COE organized Seminar of Digital Literacy and discussion on FIRSTWALL APP on 10thAugust, 2018. This is the right moment for us to exploit digital to our advantage and stabilize ourselves. The young generation can take advantage of this not only to follow their passion but rather use their talent to make a career out of it. Introduction about audience, timing, sections, number of students, faculty: The event was held on 10thAugust, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the seminar hall. There were more than 100 students who attended the discussion with full enthusiasm. About the Guests: The speaker for the discussion was Mr. Gyan Gupta, CEO of Dainik Bhaskar Digital, the digital wing of Dainik Bhaskar Group. He comes with 18 years of experience in media, digital content and technology and much more. Currently, he is working on the latest venture, First Wall, India Kaapna social video app. His team consists of Ms. Payal Singh and Ms. Aditi working in Bhaskar Digital media from last 6 years and Mr. Vikas Sharma working with the Group for the last 8 years with an overall 12 years of journalism experience. In less than 10 years of its inception, DB digital has become the largest online infotainment platform with more than 101 million unique users and an expanded portfolio from news to business, entertainment, fashion, lifestyle, sports, food and gadgets. The flagship website dainikbhaskar.com is the world’s largest Hindi news site and 2nd largest news site in India. About the Event: With digital growing at an exponential rate it and being an integral part of our business and social requirements it will only provide us a unique opportunity to leverage that to our advantage. CREATE WALLS AND STAY CONNECTED: FIRSTWALL gives us an opportunity to build/create our own wall where we can put our own videos. There was a discussion with the students on different aspects like adapting to the new world of digital, India’s own social video platform- FIRSTWALL and about the internship and community manager program for students training program to become the digital influencer. Head of CSE DepartmentDr. Manish Mahajan, appreciated the efforts done by the faculty coordinators and the student coordinators. He concluded the Talk by presenting a Vote of Thanks. Event Outcomes:The students got to know more about the digital world and its upcoming challenges. All seemed interested to create their account on First Wall and upload their videos and were also excited to become the community manager.
