Data Science with Python Workshop organized by CSE Department CGC COE under the aegis of IETE Student Forum on 8th August 2019

Event objective:Department of CSE, CGCCOE in collaboration with IETE Student Forum, organized Data Science with Python workshop on 8th August, 2019. The event was organized for the sole purpose of learning and to provide the hands on experience on the concept of data science using python.It is the right time for the students to exploit themselves emerging field of data science to their advantage and establish themselves. Students can not only learn about python and its libraries but can also show case their passion or talent to make their career in data science field. About the Event: The Workshop was inaugurated by S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman of Chandigarh Group of Colleges and S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, Chandigarh Group of Colleges and Dr.VikasDhawan, Director Principal, CGC College of Engineering. The program started with a welcome speech given by Dr.VikasDhawan. Dr.Anuj Gupta welcomed everybody. Mr. Pankaj Palta& Mr. Dishant Khosla, Faculty Coordinators, introduced the audience with the theme of the event and also briefed about the profiles of the resource person. The event was conducted to motivate the studentsabout the data science field and its implementation with python. Theevent continued from 10:00 am to 4:30pm. The event was attended by approximately 50 students of CSE and MCA and faculty memberswith full enthusiasm and interest. The overall aim of this data science with python workshop was to make the session more relaxed and confident with a set of tools and techniques to achieve more consistency. The learning is achieved through a combination of simple, practical work, thought provoking examples and the expert’s personal experience, to demonstrate the link between what we habitually think and do in real life applications and the results we can expect as a consequence. Ms. AshuGoyal covered how to solve practical data science problems using python. Head of CSE Department Dr. Anuj Gupta, appreciated the efforts done by the faculty coordinators and the student coordinators. He concluded the talk by presenting a vote of thanks. Event Outcomes:After completion of this workshop, the participants can solve practical data science problems using python. In the end of this workshop, students have taken the first step towards the various advancements and opportunities they can have towards emerging field of data science.
