College of Engineering at CGC offers a four-year full-time B.Tech degree program in Mechanical Engineering. This particular domain of engineering deals with the comprehension of working and development of heavy tools and machinery. To be precise, this sphere imparts the information pertaining to the postulates of physics, material science, design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Serving the students since 2001, COE has emerged as one of the best mechanical engineering colleges in India which take strides in making the students industry-ready.

Since the College of Engineering is affiliated to IKG Punjab Technical University Jalandhar, the curriculum of the degree has been designed as the present day industry trends. At COE, the ME degree is a heady cocktail of theoretical and practical learning. In the span of four years, the students learn the basics of designing electric motors, automobiles, heavy vehicles, heavy machines, and aircraft. Different subjects of Mechanical Engineering are placed in a proceeding manner. Starting from the basic to the advanced level, almost all facets are covered. Consequently, the knowledge gained by the candidates during this degree helps them become CAD Technician, Automotive Technician, Marine Engineering, Control & instrumentation engineer, etc, in notable companies around the world.

Eligibility Criteria & Admission Procedure (Entry Level 10+2)

All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by central/state government through a legislation and a member of Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE), New Delhi with Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry

OR

Those candidates who have passed diploma in any Engineering Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET), or any such examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education

OR

The candidates who have passed two years certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET) shall be eligible.

Eligibility Criteria & Admission Procedure for Lateral Entry

All those candidates who have passed minimum three years/two years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution/recognized university as defined by UGC in any branch of Engineering and Technology shall be eligible to apply.

OR

All those candidates who have passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject shall be eligible to apply.

OR

Candidates who have passed D. Voc. streams in the same or allied sector are eligible.
